Tony Recio, an MDM representative, told Miami Today that they are ‘striving’ to begin site work by December 31. Even if they fail to do so, they will begin construction on the massive project ‘as soon as possible’ in the new year.
MDM hasn’t closed on the purchase of the property (which is still owned by an affiliate of Miami Worldcenter’s master developer), but is ahead of the Mall at Miami Worldcenter and Paramount residences in the approval process.
In addition to the hotel rooms, the project will add 600,000-square-feet of meeting and convention space to downtown Miami.
